Patty Whaley, Volunteer of the Year

 Patty Whaley was selected as United Way Volunteer of the year by the Henry County Kiwanis Club. She was recognized along with 50 other volunteers from various charitable organizations at their annual dinner and received a certificate of appreciation.  Patty is a CPA and partner with Robinson, Whaley, Hammonds & Allison, P.C. She has been very involved in her community for several years. Since 1998, she has been a board member of A Friend's House, a shelter for abused and neglected children. In 2000, she won the Henry County Chamber of Commerce Athena Award for demonstrating excellence in her profession and providing valuable service to improve the community. Since 2001, she has been an active member of the Henry County Kiwanis Club and this is her 9th year as treasurer. Patty is involved in fundraisers including the Henry County Kiwanis Fair, Geranium Festival and KiwanisTalent Show. Through these fundraisers the Kiwanis Club donates to over 20 charitable organizations in Henry County. One of her favorite projects is the annual Christmas shopping trip. HC Kiwanis adopts 40 needy children during Connecting Henry Community Christmas. Kiwanis members spend the entire day buying Christmas presents for the children.
